Solar Eclipse Updates

Out of respect for the official reports that are being communicated about severe traffic concerns being presented on April 8, EC3 will be open to the public from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The noon closure should permit faculty and staff to reach home before the expected traffic issues once the solar event has concluded.

Services provided to students and the public will continue to be offered remotely. A staging process to release staff around the noon hour will be implemented so that services are not disrupted with the transition from campus to home.

Important Items to Note:

  • All in-person morning classes will be held as scheduled at all locations.
  • All in-person afternoon and evening classes (classes beginning after 12:00pm) will transition to online synchronous learning for the day. Synchronous online learning means that students are required to log in and participate in class at their regularly scheduled class time.
  • Faculty will be expected to hold class as scheduled and to provide learning opportunities that mirror the in-person session as best as possible.
  • Faculty needing assistance, please reach out to your dean or to Kimber Forrester (kforrester@ec3pa.org) in a timely manner so that any challenges can be mitigated.

It will be vital for you to stay up-to-date with your emails to ensure that you receive key messages. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and X to ensure that you are aware of any changes that are made.
