Students participating in Erie County Community College’s (EC3) welding program took a trip to Lincoln Electric.

Students took a tour of the facilities and got to view a variety of welding equipment. This gave our students the opportunity to bring what they are learning in class to life. The machines they got to view included a laser welder and robot welder.

“I think that part of becoming a good welder is understanding how it all started,” said Luke Hummer, EC3’s welding instructor. “Knowing some of the history and all the things that Mr. Lincoln did, you realize that everyone must start somewhere. By providing students with this opportunity, they can appreciate all that welding has become.”

Our welding program enrolled its first students in the fall of 2022 and are set to graduate with their welding certificate this spring. Students who are interested in the program should contact our admissions team by calling 814.413.7000 or emailing admissions@ec3pa.org.
