Non-Credit Welding Training for Beginners
EC3 is launching its first non-credit bearing program. For seven Fridays, beginning March 10th, those interested in learning how to weld, can do so with EC3 and our instructor Luke Hummer.
Those in attendance will learn oxygen-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing, shield metal arc or “stick” welding (SMAW). No welding background is required. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to identify equipment and safety procedures related to equipment, processes, and materials used in the major welding processes of SMAW. Students will also weld SMAW in various positions on steel to the standards of the American Welding Society (AWS) with an opportunity to test for AWS D1.1 certification with a Certified Welding Inspector.
The program will take place at EC3 Summit: Skill Center, 8500 Oliver Road, Summit Township. It will be held from 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM, March 17th – April 21st. The cost is $800 per person. Cash, check or credit card are accepted for payment. Space is limited. Register today by clicking here.
