Patient Care Technician (PCT) and Industrial Machine Maintenance (IMM) are the two latest certificate programs set to begin at Erie County Community College (EC3) for its mid-spring session beginning Monday, April 8th.

Earning a certificate as a patient care technician will prepare students to be the direct caregivers of those needing the best care in a hospital setting.  Students will learn client care, phlebotomy, and ECG skills. By the end of the program, students will be able to perform PCT procedures in a safe and therapeutic manner in line with federal and state mandates, use relevant technology in the implementation of patient care, effectively communicate with patients, families, and other health care team members, and more.

The Industrial Machine Maintenance certificate is meant for those with little to no experience or those looking to upgrade their skills. This program will build strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills while students gain foundational skills in electricity, automation, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

EC3 is now accepting students into both programs. Those interested in more information can visit the college’s website at ec3pa.org or by calling 814.413.7000 for more information.
